Does your loved one have trouble with activities of daily life? Does he or she live with pain or discomfort? Or has a recent surgery or illness left him or her not quite the same?

Restore Wellness can help. Outpatient therapy is covered by Medicare or private insurance and provides supportive therapies for your loved one, helping to improve their overall health.

We provide outpatient therapy to seniors right where they live to improve their quality of life. Our therapists serve as one more person who is looking after your loved one, monitoring their well-being, and helping to guide them through any new challenges they may face.

Further benefits include:

  • Retaining mobility

  • Helping to heal faster physically

  • Regaining normal function/abilities

  • Preventing further injuries by being proactive about health and wellness

  • Understanding current condition and having questions answered

There are three types of therapy available – physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Physical therapy can treat a variety of health problems and helps to cope with pain, increase range of motion, improve endurance, and develop the large, core stabilizing muscles that help a person to sit upright, stand, and walk.

Some other uses include:

• Manage a chronic illness like diabetes, heart disease, or arthritis

• Learn to use assistive devices like a walker or cane

• Rehab after a stroke, accident, injury, or surgery

• Work on balance to prevent a slip or fall

• Prevent disability or surgery

• Control bowels or bladder

• Adapt to an artificial limb

2

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on treating patients who are recovering from something that impacts his or her ability to perform activities of daily life.

It helps to:
• Develop fine motor skills needed to handle and manipulate items such as a pen, utensil, key, or other tool
• Relearn basic tasks such as eating, bathing, getting dressed, going to the bathroom
• Improve hand-eye coordination

3

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy helps improve the ability to communicate and eat safely. Our therapists are trained to work with seniors who have a variety of speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing deficits that may have been caused by a stroke, brain injury, cancer, or other neurological illness.
